The product Windows NT Server is out of licenses. Use License Manager
from the Administrative Tools folder for more information on which
users are out of compliance and how many licenses should be purchased.

This is an SBS2000 server with 40 licenses installed. Asside from the
SBS server itself ther are 4 other servers and 4 workstations that
participate in the LAN.

SBS2000 server also has some systems like Trend Server Protect and
Diskkeeper that may be using licenses in the background.

This server has all service packs loaded SBS2000 SP1, Windows 2000 sp4
and all security updates released to date.

In a server that produces very clean log files, this red error is an
annoyance. Does anyone no corrective steps perhaps in the registry so
stop the errors from happening? Obviously 40 installed licenses is
extreem overkill to what s really needed.

I've pay for the licenses but can't get the errors to stop.

Much thanks for any knowledge transfer.

Mark,

If you are getting error messages that Windows NT Server is out of
licenses.. are they Event 202's? if so, then it sounds like you either
currently have or have had an Windows NT v4.0 server in your environment. If
you currently have a NT v4.0 member server, then using License Manager on
that machine make sure that licenses have been added to it as well.. If
you had an NT v4.0, but you don't anymore then you may only need to clear
out the information from the database.. For steps on how to do that take a
look at the following article..

Hope that helps,
