Supporting a client with SBS2000 who uses it in application mode TS (I know
that's bad!) for access to his database by the two directors during the
evenings.

All has worked so i'm told until recently when they get a blue dsktop and
nothing else after logging in via TS. TS Manager indicates a live session.
Administrtaor can still TS in successfully but not the two TS users.

Any suggestions as to where I can look to resolve this?

I would start in TS manager and looking at the sessions and reseting or
forcing a disconnect. Then trying to log in as them again. Also, if they are
just connecting to a database, why do they need terminal services?

The two MD's use TS from their homes to access the DB. Have disconnected
the sessions (no other option anyway) and restarted the server but both TS
users still get a blan desktop when logged in.

This a serious security compromise and a lame excuse for allowing such a
configuration. There is a correct way of doing it. For example VPN in and a
second TS server or desktop PC running PCanywhere..
