Hi,
I installed Iomega today on a SBS2000 latest SP & Patches and could NOT find
the key (Eliot wrote)HKLM\software\microsoft\smallbusinessserver\backup -
the smallbusinessserver does NOT Exist.
I also cannot see the REV drive in MyComputer but can see it in Explorer.
Using their backup program, it doesn't allow backup of network drives or
mapped drives. I have a Windows 2000 Terminal Server connected to the
network and the Iomega REV backup Program cannot see this server.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards
David Hellewell

Those instructions where for SBS2k3 (and more specifically for the backup
wizard). I don't have a Rev drive, but try not to use the included backup
program... simply use the NTBackup (which is Exchange aware) since I doubt
that the Iomega one is.

I don't think NTBackup can do what you want either, so you will need to
backup to the main server first and then back it up again. Another
possibility (I just throwing ideas here... not that I have tested it) would
be to the backup the other way around back it up to a network drive (the
Rev) from the TS box.

I have had that many problems with this unit. I have connected it to the TS
Box and when I run NTBackup it may go for 30 mins without an error or about
an hour - very random and comes up with "unable to write to this device" or
something similiar. Their backup software is crap - It tells me that files
are open when they are not, the schedule part sometimes fails to start and
if it does it exits if files are open and doesn't backup the rest of the
100,000 odd files and other times you can't even start the program without
going thru Task Manager and End Process LiveSystem.exe or re-booting. I
have downloaded their latest software and I think that their support has
given up on me.

If anyone is viewing this - DON'T BUY.
