I'm looking to set up instant messaging for use within my LAN only... no internet connectivity... local server..

MSN used to be able to plug into SBS 2000 but I can't figure out how it works with SBS 2003..
Any ideas? Other solutions? Yahoo? ICQ? I don't want to allow any external Im traffic, this would be for inhouse use only

In an ideal world, the IM client would know which user is logged in at the PC and would load his/her settings

Thanks in advance, Ari

was just in 2000. There may be some corporate IM but it will cost.

Coban,

Micosoft launched Live Communication Server. Far more feature rich than you
need.

Can you use netmeeting? You can setup an internal server. I beleive it is
the ILS Server.

I use it internally only in SBS2k. There is a specific
MSN application that must be installed and you
must select Exchange (not .NET or other)
You have to have an Exchange server with IM
protocol setup.

I think this is the one that I used.
