Hi! I've been having DNS errors show in the ICW log that I believe is
preventing ICW to configure the Internet Connections (Comes up with error
"Unable to Configure Internet Connection Settings"). When I look at the
log, it refers to DNS forwarders. So I was following the article
http://www.smallbizserver.net/SBS2000/How_to_configure_DNS_to_host_a_site_on
_the_server.aspx and the second screen only has 3 options:
Active Directory Integrated
Standard Primary (defaulted)
Standard Secondary.

I have two servers: the sbs dc and a win2kserver member server. Is there
another article I should follow, or which of the 3 options should I take?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Marcia

How many nics in the server? Does DNS on both nics point to your server-IP
only?
The ISP-DNS-numbers should be put in tab Forwarder of DNS-server.
How are you connecting to the internet?

Hi Marina!

Thanks for responding. There are 2 nics on the sbs box, both pointing to
sbs dc server. The nic's are:

internal 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0 blank gateway
preferred dns as 10.0.0.2
external 192.168.3.101 default gateway (router
address) is 192.168.3.100 preferred dns is 10.0.0.2.

All users connect to the internet by using the proxy server of 10.0.0.2 in
LAN of Internet Properties.

I had, for some unknown reason (maybe rdp), a 0.0.0.0 host that I deleted,
but that didn't solve my problems.

Is that article applicable for me to run. After reading many articles, I'm
not convinced it is a dns issue. DNS can resolve the ip from remote
computers.

it is acbfparentadvocates.org

Any further thoughts, help, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Marcia

Hi Marcia,

Check your DNS-server configuration. Does the tab Forwarders have the
ISP-DNS-numbers?
Before adding other websites, you should first get your internetconnection
working right.
Can you get the ICW-wizard to work right now?
Have you checked the bindingorder of the nics and made sure the internal nic
is on top? Does the 192.168.3.x-IP-range NOT exist in your LAT of ISA? (It
shouldn't)
