Hello,

Internet Explorer prompts with a Username and Password request box everytime
I launch browser (google, not a secure site), and doesn't accept my logon
name and password, and Outlook prompts for the same and doesn't accept my
username and password either. If I try IE 6 times it finally times out with
an HTTP 407 Proxy Authentication Required message. Please help, not sure
what I did or how to straighten it out.

P.S. Server connects fine, it is the client that receives this message.

Thanks in advance,
Jed

Are the users logging on to the domain? It is the ISA proxy not recognizing
the logged on user as an internet user.

Moishe,

The user was able to log onto the domain, but then I tried removing the
computer from the domain (to a workgroup), deleting the network user profile
from the XP Pro desktop, and when I try to rejoin the domain the desktop
computer says that the Domain admin username and password are not recognized
and will not let my computer rejoin the domain. Any idea what this is,
since I'm not going through ISA at this point when I try to join the domain,
it seems like a NTLM problem, but I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance,
Jed

Hi Jed,
Not having alot of info to work with here, I'd suggest
that you verify that the computer account for the client
was removed from the active directory.
Secondly, are you using DHCP?
Are you using a client setup disk to configure your
clients?
Try configuring your client manually, then join the domain.
If the ISA issue continues when you attempt to browse,
goto internet options > connections > LAN Settings.
Under Proxy server, place a check in the use a proxy for
your lan option. Use your SBS server name as the address,
then use port 8080 (default). Try connecting then.

Lenzy,

Thanks for the response. I tried all those options, no luck. I think when
I was trying to harden the SBS Server I tweaked some registry setting that
created the havoc, so I decided to just reinstall the server. It's a pain,
but no matter what I tried, it seems like tweaking the registry to harden
the TCP/IP stack and get rid of null connections on everything including
named pipes somehow blew out the system. Still, thanks anyway.

Hi Jed,

Flip that XP-client back into a workgroup, reboot, rejoin it to the domain.
Make sure clients are obtaining an IP and DNS automatically from your
DHCP-server.
How many nics in your server?
Is the Firewall Client installed on the workstations?
