Well for those of you not here we have made it sucessfully into the second
day as we all came slowly awake and stumbling into the conference. The
people here are the greatest.

Last night we enjoyed a great dinner at the Indi speedway with a keynote
from Dean that can't be beat. Meet many of you from here and it has ben
great. Defiantly feels more like a family than a conference; everyone has
been great!!

Thanks for the update Frank. Actually, I think this is the quietest I have
seen the SBS NG in quite some time other than Xmas. :)

Liars Poker: 2-10 players can play this game. The initial deal is one
card to each player, with a fine (usually $1) and the player is out if he
looks at his own card. This is how you play the game: Each player holds his
card up so that everyone else can see it. Then starting with the player to
the left of the dealer, betting begins. Once the betting is done with, each
player looks at his card and the winner takes his pot. The deal then rotates
to the left. The game continues for one deck. This is basically a who has
the highest card game, but not knowing what your card is can drive you
crazy, especially if there is no limit to the pot. High Card rules in this
game Ace high, two Low. This game is fun to play and is the ultimate in
bluffing. Try keeping a straight face when your friend continues to raise
while he is holding a 2 of clubs.

Ok, now we know the rules. Jeff - Steve is on your left and I'm on your
right. (Not sure about Frank. I think he went for a brewsky). Jeff, it's
your deal. Steve, it's your bet.

Well, this is going to be a challenge.

I'm not sure how we are going to play from a single deck and keep passing.
I guess what we need is to have a "house dealer" who facilitates the game by
not actually playing but by individually emailing the hand of cards to each
person individually identifying what is held by the players other than the
email recipient.

The dealer wouldn't play, or else the dealer would be required to match the
highest bet as long as two other players stay in.

I could script this, I guess.

Marina wants in. She can take my spot. Oh wait, I was not invited.
Rules: See Merv's explanation.

I tried to find out where to deliver Marina's pizza but I think she is
hiding in Germany somewhere. That will be some sort of Dominos
delivery. I guess if you can deliver to Steve, whats a few more
kilometers.

Yes... you can see the link in Susan's site (www.sbslinks.com) at the bottom
of the page: "This site brought to you mostly due to lack of sleep and a can
of Mountain Dew."

http://www.mountaindew.com/about_dew/product_info/index.php

So... Susan... you have never told us about MD "LiveWire". Does it live up
to your expectations? :-)

Re: Good Morning from SMB Nation.... by Jeff

Jeff

We see now that Susan is pretty good at the three-times-removed references.

It goes like this, for a long time I've been attributed to have a "room full
of monkeys" doing my research and occasionally typing my posts....thus
explaining the rambling volume involved. This I have often explained was
that I had established a research project to prove the popculture theorem
that an infinite number of monkeys with typewriters would eventually
reproduce the complete works of Shakespeare. Still with me?

My idea was that I don't need anything quite as complicated as infinite
monkeys, just a room full of monkeys to figure out how to work basic issues
with SBS would suffice. That joke had nearly died out. Well, after years of
the monkeys jokes, Susan took it to a new level just recently.

On a recent occasion that brought together a large number of the SBS MVPs in
one place, Susan gave each of us a monkey shirt (has a monkey head breast
patch). The polite interpretation of this is that if you get enough SBS MVPs
together in one place, something productive might happen, but the odds are
against it.
