£100.00ph or £750.00 per day would be reasonable for a smallish system
which might take 2-3 days to implement.

A longer assignment, with maybe 30-40 workstations, might reduce those
rates.

Its a 15 user outfit which needs installing and configuring sbs2000. All

etc.

Thanks

will you be hosting your own SMTP or use POP 3 to download
from a ISP? Is time a big concern?

Pop3 to download. Time is not critical although it is good to know how it
works in that case.

John

Main reason why i ask is that my business (see website) is
more of a hobby and i do it in my spare time, at present i
have built and SBS2000 network for 5 cleints, 3 printers,
internet access, filewall and ADSL router access for them

This took around a few weekends as i build the server and
test it at home in my office.

Of course i do not charge as much as the Full time
conslutants as it is a hobby for me but if needed please
let me know, my email address is keith.bucknall@promo-
it.co.uk

Would you require support after the installation or is it
just the build. For the POP i use a great product call
POPcon which works a germ.

Do you have the server or would you require this as well

thanks

keith

Current shipping product is SBS 2003. I would not install SBS2000
unless you have some compelling reason. I can think of one which is
you already have the software and you want to use terminal services.

Also feedback to me is that it is probably best to wait for sp1 for sbs2003.
This from people who have installed 2003.

I have installed a few SBS 2003 and the last thing I would want to do
is wait a year to install SBS 2003 waiting for some service pack to
appear which no one has talked about, requested or seen the need for.
I have gone into a few accounts that just installed SBS2000 and told
them that SBS2003 would be a much wiser choice. They are upgrading as
soon as the software assurance SBS2003 arrives. You can do a few
things so much better with SBS2003 that it would be folly to go with
the old if you have a choice.

Depends - on-site of via remote access. The rates I quoted are
certainly on-site rates, perhaps half rate for remote support.
