For some reason the check box to "Enable DNS forwarding"
is grayed out on my server and I can't enter any DNS
addresses to forward requests to. Any ideas on why this
would be grayed out?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

you prbably have the "." root level zone under forward zone. Delete this
and it won't be gray any more.

Making the change AND rebooting did the trick. Just
stopping and starting the DNS service didn't work.

Thanks for the help!

Rob,

Once removing the ".:" forward lookup zone you should be able to either
refresh the mmc or at most close and re-open the mmc to then be able to
enable forwarders... However, I'm a bit curious since the SBS integrated
setup should have removed that and then when you run the ICW and specify DNS
server addresses it will configure the DNS server to use the IP's you
specified as forwaders.

Hope that helps,
