I have just built a server with SBS2000 (Win2K SP3), standard
installation options, and with only a single Network Card which i
configured as the Internal LAN Interface. Since this time, i have
added a second network card which will be the 'Live' Interface and
will be connected to the Internet.

Since i added the second NIC, Active Directory has started to generate
errors relating to Group Policy and when i try to access the Group
Policy tab in ADUC, i get a message stating that no domain controllers
are available. I have discovered that binding 'File and Print Sharing
for Microsoft Networks' to the External Interface fixes the problems.

Why is this the case?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Kevin

I think you need to rerun ICW now to get AD/dns to be set right.

Better yet goto http://www.smallbizserver.net/sbs2000/network.aspx and
select the way your set up is and follow their instructions. Then you
should be OK.

And no, you don't want file and printer sharing bound to the external nic
(only tcp/ip).
