As per previous threads, I cannot get VPN to work. I can make the
connection to the server (authenticates OK), but then cannot see any
folders, run any programs, etc. The same thing happens connecting to the
internal LAN via VPN.

I've tried everything I can find: worked through the knowledge reviews
referred to me by this newsgroup, still can't find anything amis. There
must be some hidden conflict in my settings somewhere which isn't being
fixed by following the KBs, and other advice given here.

To avoid a complete wipe (which seems a bit drastic), what parts of the
server should I delete and reload to ensure any conflicts are deleted and
reset back to the default. Presumably this needs to include ISA server,
RRAS, WINS, DNS, NICs, etc (by which time have I effectively deleted the
main bits of the server?

I would called Microsoft support. They are really good at solving
problems and worth the time. I would write down everything you have
done that you can remember and have that document ready to email to
the tech support person. Even if you have to pay $245 US for support
it would be worthwhile. I think in 5 years of calling for support only
once was I temporarily disappointed. That call went welll the second
day when the tech elevated the call to another engineer. I may place a
call this afternoon for a vpn/rdp problem because I know they have the
answers. Some of my friends have suggested a few tips I will try first
but the account wants the problem fixed yesterday a week ago and I
don't have the time to discover a solution on my own.

I agree (there's no reason to think a reinstall of anything will help,
particularly if it's a setting that's causing the problem). And by the way,
if your problem is not urgent, you can use the e-mail version of MS support
for $99. They'll work just as hard to help you out, but without the urgency
they give phone callers - it might take you a few days to solve it using
e-mail.

Thanks for the suggestions. You are offering $ pricing. I'm UK based, I
presume the US support system is available to UK users (we seem to get all
our download updates from the US support site so I would expect so).
