I have an SBS 2000 server which had surpassed the 16GB database limit. I
temporarily increased the database limit to 17GB and then upgraded Exchange
to 2003 Standard edition with 5 users but SBS still has its 30 licenses
installed. Now I need to upgrade the Exchange 2003 licenses to 20 but cannot
figure out how to add for Exchange only. Is there a way? Or what will happen
if I upgrade SBS 2000 to 2003 now after having installed a non-SBS version of
Exchange?

Not sure what to advise you but at the very least it looks like you have an
unsupported configuration. Since the SBS 2003 upgrade is cheaper than
standalone Exchange 2003 why didn't you follow the supported path in the
first place?

They had already purchased Exchange 2003 a while ago. I went ahead and
purchased SBS 2003 that will be here tomorrow. Will the upgrade work?
Including Exchange?

I wouldn't trust it but maybe someone else will chime in. You might also
want to bring this over to the SBS 2003 newsgroup:
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

Thanks for the quick responses. I will try the SBS 2003 group.
