Is it possible to upgrade the exchange component of SBS 2000 to Exchange
2003 ?

I do not want to upgrade to SBS 03 due to user limits, has anyone tried this
and/or know if it is even possible.

Eventually All of the components (ISA, SQL, Exchange) will be upgraded.

This would cost you a lot of money, you would purchase Retail Exchange 2003
and Retail Exchange Cals
Windows Server has to be at sp3 or higher

Why would you only upgrade that portion when it would cost you more than the
upgrade to SBS 2003 Prem??

I think he said "> > I do not want to upgrade to SBS 03 due to user limits"

While expensive, isn't there still a route to upgrade the whole package to
full versions?

Ok... but then keeping SBS2k is not going to solve that since limits in 2k
version are lower than in 2k3. right?

Yes... you need the migration/transition pack. Although it might be cheaper
to "upgrade" (at least license-wise) to SBS2k3 and then apply the transition
pack. This way you get all the new versions (remember that there are not
VUPs for Win2k3/Ex2k3/ect.)
