Hi All,

I have a client who manually copied the mdbdata from a old sbs server which
then died and then they tried to mount the store on an different server so
that they can try and get at some old emails. When they tried this it came
back with a inconsistency error so can anyone advise what to do next as the
machine is the same domain, comp name, org name as the old one?

Thanks

Regards

Hello Jase,

It sounds like the databases are no longer consistent. The first thing to
start with is the following KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=313184.

I would begin with the "Troubleshooting the Information Store" section of
that article and go from there.
Another thing to be sure of is that the new server has the same Exchange
service pack, as database with, say, Exchange 2000 SP3 will not mount on an
install from Exchange 2000 SP2.
