I think that we are having some problems with Exchange in
SBS2000. I have noticed that I have received some e-
mails bounced back to me stating that they were delayed
for delivery to the recipient(s). I sent an e-mail to a
yahoo e-mail account that I have, and I never see the e-
mail come in to my Yahoo e-mail account in box.

Exchange had been working without any problems before the
past week or two. Is this indicative of a problem with
Exchange? What should/could I check in SBS2000 to see if
there is anything wrong? Should I go through the
Internet Connection Wizard again?

Please advise, and thank you in advance for any help that
anyone offers me.

It never hurts to run the wizard again. Are you using DNS or smarthost on
the SMTP-connector?
If you send a messge again to that Yahoo-account, can you see it in the
queue? Rightclick that queue, properties and see what the message is (why it
is still in the queue).

This probably isn't the solution but following the golden
rule of "The most difficult problems often have the
simplist solution", copyright me :), check your services
and make sure that the "simple mail transport protocol"
is running. In the past whenever something similiar
happened to us that's what it was.

Exchange problems??? by Torrey

Eric,

I checked the Simple Mail Transport Protocol, and it was
running. I stopped and re-started it, and then all the
mail went out. I know that it all went out because I
send all mail out with a delivery and receipt
confirmations, and after re-starting the SMTP service, I
received "Relayed" confirmations that the mail was sent
out (delivered).

Any ideas as to why this is happening and/or how to fix
it?

Thanks for your help!
