If you could post back more info such as the exact error messages on
8197,9518,454,1005,9175, that would be helpful. Sometimes the same Event ID
will give you different description.
Did you restore just the System State? How about Exchagne? Did you restore
Exchange also?

If you like, you can actaully try reinstall Exchange on top of itself. It
will simply put back the Exchange files and it won't modify your database
during the reinstall. But as always, always make a backup of the Exchange
(Even a offline copy of the mdbdata data folder) is recommended before you
attempt any recovery steps.

Exchange can not mount storage group . by Keith

This message can often occur if you try to restore to a
system with a different Active Directory name.

Did you have to re-install SBS before you recovered your
backup, and if so, did you definately give the SBS box the
same AD name. You should see in the event logs a bit more
detail about the error c1041724.

Can you post more details about the error messages.

After you run the eseutil /p, did you remove all the logs, chk files out of
the mdbdata folder?
Make sure the mdbdata folder only contains priv1.edb, priv1.stm, pub1.edb,
and pub1.stm. Make sure the logs and chk files doesn't exist on another
patition. Sometimes, you database maybe on D: but the logs and chk are
still on C:.

If it didn't work, how about set the Database Not to Mount at start up
(Properites of mailbox store and public folder store), then start the
ExchangeSA and ExchangeIS, do they start?

Then do you have the priv1.stm file anywhere? If you do, would you run
eseutil /mh priv1.edb and eseutil /mh priv1.stm and then post back the
results?
By the way, search for entire server for *.edb and *.stm, then post back
how many do you have. Your stm maybe hidden somewhere or got renamed to
something.stm during the defrag process (if you ran eseuitl /d at one
point).

You pub1.edb shows clean shutdown but not for priv1.edb. Could you run
eseutil on the STM file ("eseutil /mh priv1.stm"). We need to look at the
at header and see what it said. Also, please run eseutil /ml e00.log, we
also need to look at the log header.
