Hi:

a consultant came and installed Exchange 2000 on our SBS2000. But the
installation was on the C drive. And now I have 4gb left on my C. I want to
move these files to a logical drive where I have 35GB. How can I move
everything to avoid Exchange2000 from using my limited resources from my C
drive. All the installation is under C:\program files\exchsvr. Also notice
that there is a drive named M:\Excahnge (local drive) with the exact amount
left from the CD drive.
What can I do to move everything or at least the databases, logs anything
that will fill my C.

Thanks in advance

Denise

that'll work.

NOTE about M: It doesn't exist. It is a figment of Exchange's imagination.
It is actually a method of accessing the Exchange database through IFS, a
method fraught with danger. The M drive will reflect data capacity &
freespace of the drive on which the Exchange database resides.

Tell your AV not to scan it.
Don't back it up.
Ignore it and it will not go away, play with it and it just may go away.

Thanks for the explanation. I had no clue why the M drive was there. I was
selecting the drive for backup, but now I just remove it from my backup. I
hope it goes away.Do you have any idea how long it takes to go awa? Thanks
again for your help.

Denise,

The M drive doesn't go away, if it does i have a mayor problem. So just
ignore it and hope it sticks around :-)

Don't backup or have your antivirus scan it, if i do, you could end up with
all kind of weird problems.

Erik.
