Having fun testing the Full Text Indexing on exchange 2000
in our SBS 2000 set up. we are placing some contacts and
tasks in our public folders and the search speed up is
noticable.
FTI is a search on words and not a character by character
search according to documentation from MS
This is true of our tasks folders but the contact folders
ARE a character by character search !! ???
Why ??
is there an exception when you search contact folders that
are in the public folder (when indexing is turned on)
Server checks out OK - indexing IS working
but a search on 'oss' in the contacts folders will
find 'boss' 'moss' etc
I dont understand why this is not mentioned anywhere
Any ideas ??
