I am having problems all of the sudden with accessing the exchange public
folders. Could anyone tell me how to reset the rights or privleges on the
folders to allow access.

From outlook xp I am trying to put e-mail messages in the appropriate
exchange public folder. I am not sure how to change the rights from the
exchange server or the outlook client.

Hi Mark,

What (if any) error message(s) do get?

Also
also check out this
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=313866

I thought i might be this
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;282076&Product=exch2k
check it but I don't think so as this only applies to the System Manager
and not Outlook.

Craig

"You don't have permissions to create an entry in this folder. Right click
and select properties to check permissions. See the folder owner or your
administrator to change your permissions." When I right click and select
properties I am not allowed to change the permissions and I am not sure how
to change the permissions on the public folders at the server level.

This one was interesting. Thought I would post the resolution for those
interested.

ISSUE:
=======

When you try to click to expand the public folder tree in Exchange System
Manager, the error message was:

The object is no longer available. Press F5 to refresh the display, and
then try again.
ID no: 80040e19

CAUSE:
=======
URLScan was installed.

The urlscan log file showed .com and .ini file extensions were being
blocked.

There is a simpler possibility - was the folder created by someone else who
hasnt given you any permissions to do stuff to that folder?
