I Hope somebody can get to the bottom of this....
Got The W32.Novarg.A@mm yesterday on a workstation,
Manually updated Pattern Files from Symantec website,
scanned the server it reported virus not running on there
but present in BAD Q..
Used the Registry fix from Symantec yesterday and cleared
the virus from the workstation....
As the mail was comming in yesterday, it popped up and
said the mail was infected so we jsut deleted it as
normal...
This morning started system up OK, Manually updated
pattern files, all went well.. Saw there was a few emails
with attachments, went to delete them, accidently clicked
one, symanted virus message popped up and said it was in
Quarentine..
A few seconds later, the hard drives on the server went
wild and my outlook screen said there was no folders to
view..!!
My outlook was empty.!
Restarted the server, noticed drive "M" was missing,
checked the event log, well it was all RED.
Turns out the E00.log file was now E00.chk.
I ran eseutil and it reported the database was full of
errors, it ran through and corrected this...
Restart of server cleared all but 3 errors, main one
being Event ID 454 Error Code 359 - Log files refer to a
different database....
Can anybody explain how to remap the log files to the
existing database, I seem to be going round in circles....
