I got a problem applying SBS SP1a
When I start SP1SETUP.EXE I got the message

SERVICE PACK 1 CAN ONLY BE INSTALLED ON SMALL BUSINESS
SERVER 2000

and it close the setup.

What to do?

Lasse,

Do you already have SBS SP1 installed? If so, then you only need to
download/install Windows 2000 Service Pack 4..

From
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=F4FC58D0-1FAC-4927-84D7-189FA1B690BE&displaylang=en

"Note If you are already running SP1, there is no need to install SP1a.
Small Business Server 2000 SP1a contains the same updates as SP1, plus
Windows 2000 SP4."

Hope that helps,

Lasse,

Course it should go without saying, but of course you should also apply the
lastest security updates as well.. my previous post was with respect to SBS
SP1/1a.. :)

Yes I have SP1 installed, is that the reason for the
error?
I will install SP4

NO, that's not the reason for the error. But, if you successfully installed
SBSsp1 (or do you mean W2Ksp1) I can't suggest why you can't install SBSsp1a

There is SBS SP1 installed, so I don't understand why I
can't install SBS SP1a.

I had the same problem as this and looked at the smallbizserver.net, but the
resolutions for fixing the fault had no effect so i made sure that I had all
the required
patches after sp1 and loaded w2k sp4 and all is ok at the moment.
