Hi, I have set up an SBS 2k server. Email is collected
via POP3. What I need to do is allow emails to a certain
set of external users (e.g name@anycompany.com, where
anycompany.com is the default domain on the server) to
forward out to a different domain without saving a copy
locally. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Jon

Hey Jon,
Are you saying you want mail sent to someone@sbssever.com
to be forwarded to someone@somewhereelse.com? If so, this
ought to work:
Step A
First create a Contact in Active directory that
references the external address that you wish to forward
the mail to:
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers
2. Select the container you wish to add the contact to
(users for instance)
3. Right-click it and select new - contact.
4. Give them a name and such. Select SMTP as the address
type when Modifying the email field.
5. Save the contact.

Step B
Then forward the mail from the mailbox on SBS to the
contact created in Step A
1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers
2. Open the user account that has the mailbox you wish to
forward.
3. Go to the Exchange General Tab
4. Click the Delivery Options button
5. In the Forwarding Address section select Forward to:
and choose the contact created in Step A
6. Deselect the Deliver messages to both the forwarding
address and mailbox.

Thanks guys, both postings were very useful and helped.
Just another quick question on the same topic. Is it
possible to forward out to 2 external email addresses
using the set up mentioned before? e.g. user@domain.com
forwards out to user@domain1.com and user@domain2.com

TIA
Jon
