I have setup a new SBS 2000 to replace our old SBS 2000.

At the moment the box sits on an isolated network with the
same credentials as the old SBS - same servername, same
Domain name, etc...

So far I have only installed SBS2000 and I am currently
service packing the machine and installing Outlook 2002
for client deployement. I have not yet configured the
POP3 connector for Exchange with our ISPs details.

What I have noticed is that when I add a new user, his/her
email address becomes <username>@<domain>.local instead of
<username>@<wwwdomainname>.co.uk.

Have I done something wrong here?

Furthermore, when I right-click the user>Properties>Email
Addresses, the users only have:

SMTP: <username>@<domain>.local
X400: c=us;a= ;p=<DOMAIN>;o=Exchange..........

On the old SBS, the user has two SMTP addresses, the
second one being the public email address so POP3 mail can
go to that person: e.g. <username>@<wwwdomainname>.co.uk

Please can you tell me where I configure this.

The emailaddress will be adjusted if you've run the ICW-wizard (in where
you setup the emaildomain).

If you run the ICW-wizard, it will ask you for the emaildomain (company.com
e.g.). This part will also update the recipient update policy in where you
find the different emailaddresses.

Hi Skc!

You haven't run ICW yet? right?

Is just than when you run ICW it will ask you for your e-mail domain (your
FQDN... i.e. yourdomain.com). When you finish that step the server will
automatically update all addresses so the primary is username@yourdomain.com
(instead of .local).

If you already ran ICW... then run it again using your FQDN instead of your
AD domain name.
