What is the current status of the Exchange Server? Is it still running?
Probably not -I tried to reproduce this in the lab (for this, the Store
have to be dismounted and/or the Information Store has to be stopped). When
starting up the store, the following events show up:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: ESE
Event Category: Logging/Recovery
Event ID: 455

(0xfffff8ed) occurred while opening logfile C:\Program
Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\E00.log.

When starting up the Information Store service again, it starts up
successfully.

But when mounting the store again, I receive the following error which
indicates that the Information Store has become corrupted:

If that is the case in your environment, then there is no other way then
restore from last backup and/or perform a full repair on the database with
eseutil.

I guess so yeah. Do you know why this file was removed anyway? I can't
understand why someone specifically removed that file from the system.
Actually, you cannot remove the e00.log file because it is in use by the
Exchange.
