I'm about to re-load SBS2003 and use two NICS. I'll use a 192.xxx.xxx.xxx inside my Netgear router, but an cable company also doles out dynamic IP addresses. I believe I should have a static IP for the external NIC. I'm sure I'm not alone with this situation. I'd appreciate any suggestions or experiences with this. Thanks

hi TJ,

If I understand you correctly, on SBS ext nic, you shd have a fixed
IP using the router's LAN addr space (router is normally x.x.x.1).
On the WAN side of the router, it can be setup for dynamic config
by the ISP.
