OK - to those in the know...

Bonnie Scotland - well, to tourists maybe that only see the nice bits! And
to sentimental shortcake tin fans from the US and Japan!

To the rest we're just the bit of North Britain that gets all the rain!

To be fair, we can barely speak our own language never mind anyone elses!

OZ is also metric, but the 'pursuader' is still a 2*4.

Funnily, we also use a baseball bat for similar purpose. It's the only way
the septics could open a market here, they knew we didn't want to bloody our
cricket bats.

Well since it has been years since you could buy a real 2x4 at the
lumber yard it would be a 38.4x89.6 in the EU. Now the carpenter wants
to know what are the dimensions of common house framing wood in the
EU. In the USA we generally use 2x4 (1.5x3.5 inches) and 2x6 (1.5x5.5)
for studs (wall framing). Well I have had a hankering to get a
passport. Maybe I need to do a road/air trip to find out that answer
first hand.
