Hi Larry,
As it happens I didn't fix it. I'd moved a couple of files from;
C:\Program Files\Microsoft BackOffice\Connectivity\POP3 Connector\Directory
But this just stopped our message collection, so I ended up putting them back.
However, it temporarily at least also seemed to stop our server sending
messages out.
I did find this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264249/en-us in the end, but
I'm not certain if it is the problem I'm having.
We've got service pack 4 installed along with numerous other patches.
There's nothing in the event logs, although logging is set to minimum.
I've now checked all the folders under the POP3 connector and most are empty
as are the BadMail, Pickup and Queue folders for the Exchange server.
The only thing I've picked up on, is an inbound message received at 3:00am
this morning, which appears to have be been submitted to the SMTP queue
several hunderd times, but I've no idea why.
I'm now monitoring the Exchange queues for copies of the message, so I can
delete them but obviously I'd prefer not to have to do this.
Regards
Tony
