Hi
Does anyone know how to change the drive letter for a floppy drive. I have 1
external usb floppy and no internal floppy and i want to change the usb to
A: From B: and i am stuck as disk management doesn't show floppy drives. I
disabled the floppy disk controller and it made the A: it thinks is there
disappear from my computer but i still can change the drive letter.
Thanks
Dan

I think A: is reserved in the BIOS - not sure that you can change it. What's
the reason you want the USB floppy drive to appear as A, not B?

The reason i want to make b to a is i don't have any internal floppy drives
installed as they are crap and primative so i only use the usb one when i
need it also i tried to make a remote boot generator floppy in 2003 for RIS
and the option doesn't give me a: and b: drive unlike 2000 which has a: and
b:. It says it can't find any floppy disk in the a: drive. The stupid pc has
added a virtual floppy mapping to a: and i want the physical floppy mapped
as a:.

You need BIOS support for USB FDD and for booting from them, and that's
a fairly recent improvement.
