I have my upgrade software, CALs, new Trend SMB, Veritas 9.1. From what i
understand I will block port 25, remove Trend 5.1 from server/workstations.
Remove Veritas Backup 8.6 for SBS. Run SBS upgrade on server, install Trend
SMB, Install Veritas, run all patches on server, install Trend on all
workstations. Open up port 25 again.

Anything I am missing?

Thanks,
Dougals

You might consider exporting via Outlook your public folders for sure, and
possibly the mailboxes of your more important users.

Also, you don't mention if you are going to install ISA. If so, I've been
told you want to install ISA before running CEICW.

There is amigration document which I assume you have printed out. Yes????

Before a major upgrade, I like to do a full, verified backup. Then
immediately before starting, I do offline backups of the Exchange databases
and copy them to a different server or workstation. Go to your hardware
mfr's web site and make sure your drivers, bios, etc. meet their
requirements for 2k3 server. Keep in mind that with your SBS down, you may
have less Internet access, so print or save locally any documents related to
the upgrade, and write down the phone numbers for PSS and your hardware
mfr's tech support.

You forgot a large box of tissues, Rogaine for the hair you'll have left,
Beer to ease the pain of a hosed Exchange store......

Got any Bibles around there?

Just kidding, good luck tonight.

I am doing an upgrade to an existing SBS2000 box, hopefully it will go
smooth.

Thanks,
Douglas
