I have a 2k SBS that has basically run out of disk space
on the c: drive. I am trying to do what I can to clear
space until I can get additional drives. Does anyone
have any suggestions of files and locations that need to
be watched and/or can be removed. For example, where are
the service pack backup files located. Since the machine
is running fine I would like to clear up that space. Any
other suggestions?????

Thanks in advance.

how big is your C; drive is, and how much space do you have left?

have you verified if you are doiung a proper, eXchange-aware tape backup? if
not, you will have a zillion .log files in c:\Program Files\Exchvsrv\mdbdata
directory

But don't just delete those files - you must do a proper backup which will
automatically clear them out.

Hey Thanks for all of the great suggestions.....I have
found the folder that is consuming a good portion of my
disk space c:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mailroot\vsi 1\bad
mail now I believe from what I have found on another
thread that this is where the ndr's are stored. Does
anyone know if those can just be deleted if I am not
worried about the ndr's?

thanks,

-Kurt

See my reply at the other thread you joined: NDR - Storage Graham
Rawlinson 08/23/03

(Basic answer is yes, delete the contents of the badmail folder).

Hi Kurt,

What Merv says. And, I set up a scheduled task to delete the contents of the
directory on a daily basis. This happens after a daily backup, but in all
honesty I've never had occasion to go to the backup to retrieve any badmail.
I do spot check in there occasionally though, just to see what my ORfilter
is tossing out.
