I have a client who wants to track who is printing to their networked
printers. They have seperate ids for the print driver to identify them but
they don't want the users messing with the print driver all the time and they
have to clear it out when they're done.

Is there a way to set-up usres with specific printing preferences so that if
the user logs into XP or 98 boxes the printer preferences are set from the
server?

Thanks,
Chris

If the printers are installed and shared from the Small Biz Server, you can
set the print spooler to log each print job to the system event log. Each
time a user prints something it will be logged.

The event log can be filtered for print events and exported to a database or
spreadsheet with freely available utilities.
