Hi All,

Apologies if this issue has already been threaded. Had to sort out a
misconfigured SBS2K installation on Tue, Boss at Site A had been set up with
Outlook accessing his mail account directly via a POP account (!) I disabled
this account and set up an Outlook Exchange account. Well! All his deleted
mail came spewing back into his inbox! As fast as he deleted it it all came
back again. As a temp measure just went back to the non-standard config.
(sigh.)

Then today, Boss at site B (what is it with bosses these days) - who has
been set up correctly - rang and reported the same issue!
Boss B had a trojan afew weeks ago... looks suspicious. Anyone know what
causes this???

TIA
Norm Hughes

Hi Norm.
Sounds like an issue with the mail not being deleted off of the ISPs
(POP) Server.
If these are Bogpond customers you know there are new settings required

I agree. I have had many times when setting someone that uses POP accounts
up with a different mail reader or doing a reload where the last 3 to 4
months of mail gets downloaded again. As for site B, no idea.

Thanks for responses Guys. Site A is actually a "Bogpond" site and no, I
wasn't aware of changes - can you elborate please Henry?
Went to Site B yesterday where their ISP is Optus and the boss's notebook
was again infested with spyware ( @#!%*# toolbars!) but this workstation was
simply running his exchange account. I'm hoping that these mutual Site
events are not related!
