over fixed IP's?

would be interesting why you think fixed ips should be compared ? There is

I don't have to keep a piece of paper to remind me of what IP address I
assigned to what.

I went into a firm yesterday and had to get the copiers/printers to spit
out a IP address as no one knew what was what and we were adding a
device.

That's why you want DHCP. No brainer.
