I was talking to a guy today in an Exchange class. They had over 200
active connections to the server he was servicing. It seeems that
someone once set up an account called Admin. Someone hacked in on that
account and relayed like crazy. I had an account where someone turned
on the Guest account. It had 4 annoying connections that kept coming
back. I just changed the password on that account and disabled it. My
acquaintance deleted the account. I also uncheck the box that says
allow authenticated users to use this connection. Verbage may be
different. That should only have connections popping up when you are
getting real legitimate email. The connections go away when the legal
email is successfully delivered.
If that crazy link does not work just go to Wayne's web site and do a
search on relay. Maybe this article will turn up. I found it doing a
google search with key words of relay small business server. Wayne had
shared this with me after I suffered the exact same pain he had
suffered.
