Paul,
It could be a corrupt email sticking in the delivery folder of the pop3
connector, this happens every once in a while. What i normally do i a
situation like this is go to the folder C:\Program files\Microsoft
Backoffice\Connectivity\Pop3 Connector
You will find a subfolder there called Incoming, look inside there if there
are files waiting. These are emailmessages which are waiting to be processed
by the pop3 service.
- Stop the POP3 Connector service
- Drag all files out of the incoming folder to a temp folder for example on
the desktop.
- Start the POP3 Connector service and look of a test mail can be correctly
received and delivered to the exchange mailstore.
- If so, you can start by putting back the files you dragged from the
incoming subfolder. Do a few at a time and wait a few minutes before they
disappear (be processed). Most of the times it's the oldest file where
there's a problem with. If the POP3 service hangs are crashes you got the
corrupt message in the incoming folder and need to delete that. If the
service hangs are crashes a reboot of the complete server is probably
required, so do test this at a none busy time.
Good luck,
Erik.
