I have a SBS 2K server, all SP's installed. Now my VPN clients can't access
the network, Exchange, etc. It worked untill the last couple of months.
Apparently, one of the Microsoft updates "fixed it." Any ideas how to give
network access back to VPN clients? They cannect and are registered, they
just can't do anything once connected.

Thanks,

Mike

What kind of clients? I was at a site yesterday where all the XP
workstations work fine but the 2000 Pro do not work well. I made the
user account at the workstation exactly the same as the user account
at the domain and it seemed to work better. I am not sure about this
as the painters were spraying electrostatic paint on file cabinets and
I had no respirator. I was trying to get out as quick as I could and
who knows what I was really doing. The idiot painters were painting
without respirators. I will visit on Tuesday to figure out what I was
really doing when the air is clear. The problem 2000 Pro wokstations
ahve SP4 and all patches are current. The servers at the main office
are also SP4 with up to date patches.

It's a Win 2K client. I think it's something microsoft broke in a patch.
SP1 fixed the issue of SBS clients not being able to browse the network. I
just need to know what's up and if someone else has experienced this. I
found nothing on the MS website.

Thanks,

Mike

My users were getting challenged when logging in to Exchange even
thought the vpn connectoid had include domain login. I think that went
away when I made the workstation login the same as the domain login.
We don't use shared folders over the vpn, at least for those users. I
can look at that next week.

It used to work. These's another user that posted today w/the same issue.
Microsoft has "fixed" something that wasn't broken---Again.

Thanks,

Mike

if your organization is like ours and 95% of the time you use the VPN for MS
Exchange access, check out the HiPerExchange [seasidesw.com]

We have a netscreen 10 that has a VPN in it.. It was never implemented
because the only access these
people need is our exchange and the public folders. So there was no need to
implement a VPN . and we use the Hiperexchnage [seasidesw.com]and it even
MSblaster proof
