Hi all

I have recently taken admin responsibilities of a Win2k SBS and am trying to
install ISA from the CD but the Cd-Key has been misplaced. Is there any way
of finding the original install key that was used from the registry or any
place else??

Thanks for any help.

Grant.

You should add ISA Server by using Control Panel>Add/Remove programs>Small
Business Server.
Follow the wizards and add ISA to the install.
ISA Server on SBS is not provided with a separate key - you are expected to
do the integrated install.

which leads me to ask, has the OP any previous experience of SBS?

If not, do yourself, Microsoft, and your company a favour. Grab a spare box
and perform a couple of full installations. Use and familiarise yourself
with the wizards.

This extracts the 25 digit SBS key. I needed to re-install ISA on a
server that was messed up a year or so ago. ISTR tho that ISA uses the
old 3-7 key format. ie xxx-xxxxxxx ... might be wrong tho as it was a
while ago and memory is fuddled.

As per other comments in this thread, if its your first time with ISA,
test on a spare box first before unleashing on your production server.

Jon

if you run Control Panel/ Add Remove Programs/ SBS (as you should when
changing any aspect of your SBS installation)

it reports your SBS and Outlook installation keys, no need to eat
jellybeans.
