I wanted to make some changes to a users POP3 account but could not find the
POP3 connector. It's been a while since I've done this and wasn't quite
sure where it was. But I looked pretty carefully through the Exchange
management directory (found the POP3 virtual server) but no connector. Is
it possible some SBS update or patch could have removed this? For that
matter, I couldn't find the SMTP connect either.

Any ideas? POP3 email still seems to be working fine, so I'm not sure
what's going on.

Thanks for any help. -Pat

Hi Pat,

Those connectors should be in the Connectors folder in Exchange System
Manager.

Hi Marina,

Thanks for the reply. There is no connectors folder in the Exchange System
Manager. The only folders listed are:
Global Settings
Recipeints
Administrative Groups
Tools

It use to be there though, and as I mentioned the mail is still working
fine. Any idea why it disappeared, and (more to the point) any suggestions
on how to restore this?

Pat

Hi Pat,

Did you have to do a reinstall of Exchange in the past? Drill down the
Administrative Groups.

I found it. It was under:

Administrative Groups > Routing Groups > first routing group > Connectors

Darn, I thought I had looked in all those branches. I spent quite a while
searching for it. Still, it seems like an obscure place to keep it. Is this
where it's suppose to be? From what you said (and other posts I read) I was
under the impression it was higher up in the structure (at the
Administrative Groups level). It this correct?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Pat

Hi Pat,

That is why I asked you if you ever had to reinstall Exchange or remount the
databases or something like that. Default the Connector folder should be
found right under ESM.
I have seen it before that somehow there is this Administrative Groups, and
that was after the loosing of the M-drive if I remember right.

Exchange has never been reinstalled, but I did have to move the Exchange
database stores from the C: partition to D: (where they should have been)
because of space issues. So would this have relocated the Connectors folder
also? If so, go figure.

Thanks alot for your help. -Pat
