Have no idea why our new XP machines can't seem to access all this
information when the Win2k and Win98 were fine. I have an Allow All/All/All
rule on the server. I also have ftp allow rule that came with SBS. I also set
up real audio to use 'http no proxy' - which again worked fine with window 2k
but no longer on windows XP.

The XP machines and 2K machines have the same group membership (just
checked). The same people log into them (so it is not something funny with
that).

We have several windows XP machines, a few gateways and dells of various
vintage, and all have the same problem.

I tried to install the ISA firewall, but the machine just hung and windows
reported that the installer is no longer responding. Should you install the
ISA firewall on XP machines? Note: I am using SBS 2000 with windows 2000
server release 4.

Yes, the Firewall Client should be installed on all workstations. You can
install if from the 'mspclnt'-share on the SBS.

Well, like I said, it just hangs and I can't install and windows
reported that the installer is no longer responding. Is there some trick,
like disabling Norton Antivirus or something? Is there a manual which
describes how to install that might have this info? I'll take a look at the
ISA help page on the server, if there is one.

I have had problems with the windows Installer. I did a google search
or I went to support.microsoft.com and did a search there. I seem to
recall that I deleted all the Windows Installer files, rebooted and
tried again. Sometimes the Windows installer stuff gets corrupt
somehow so a deletion and reboot clears things up.

Amusing thing is I visited an account last night where the
administrator had a new goal of stopping any internet audio feed. The
thought is buy a radio so the internet is available for research.

Well, apparently you have to turn the windows installer folder readable to
'Everyone' for some scary reason. Works fine now.

Probably because things are all not updated as they should be on the server.
