I have recently set up a new SBS 2003 server behind a
firewall and have configured port forwarding to enable
access to Outlook Web Access from the Internet.

Users are able to connect and log in OK and get to their
mailbox, and the Basic version works fine. But the
premium version calendar does not work at all, we are
just getting a "View Updating" hourglass which never
times out or gives an error message.

This does not happen if we access OWA from the browser on
the server itself on a Remote Desktop Session but still
does not work if we connect via VPN to the Server
directly, rather than through port forwarding.

Either there is some problem with the firewall, I have
not enabled enough ports or there is something on the
client Machines (Windows XP Pro running Outlook 2000)
that is stopping it working.

I am really hoping that someone has a solution for this
as we were hoping to use OWA at remote sites to avoid the
complexity of setting up VPN and direct client
connections.

Any ideas appreciated.

What happens when you connect to the server using the /remote url?
http://mailservernamefoundinthemxrecords/remote

microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs is the SBS 2003 newsgroup.

ALSO Reposted to correct newsgroup:

I am able to log on using the /remote url and get to the Remote Web
workplace screen. Launching the OWA from here gives me the same error. I
cannot do remote server connections as I have not enable remote desktop port
through the firewall.

Doing the same thing via a PPTP VPN connection to the server IP address
directly enables me to do a remote desktop but I still get the same error
with the OWA calendar.

As the VPN appears to work OK I'm beginning to think it could be some
problem on the client machine.
