the correct pop server address for PigPong Broadband accounts is
pop-server.bigpond.net.au, or maybe
pop-server.<state_abbreviation>.bigpond.net.au, depending on the status of
PigPong's stuffed DNS servers in your area.
mail.bigpond.com is (I think) valid as a POP address for Bigpond dialup
accounts, it is also a valid alias for the SMTP servers available to PigPong
Broadband users, if PigPong DNS is working correctly in the logical area of
your connection.
NOTE: _ALL_ PigPong ADSL services are 'logically' connected in Victoria,
regardless of location (last I knew). Cable subscribers should reflect their
own location.
