Backup Exec not recognising drive

Hi

We have an external Sony SDX-420C USB drive which appears OK in remote
storage. Unfortunately VERITAS Backup Exec 9 can not see the drive. I have
used the Backup Exec Device Configuration Wizard but no luck. Has anyone any
idea what I am missing?

Just ran into this with an HP DAT 40 USB drive. BE 9 doesn't support USB
tape drives so the client has to bite the bullet and upgrade to BE 10d. We
downloaded the 60 day eval and it recognizes and backs up just fine.

This has hotfix for version 8.6 but not for version 9.0 which I have. Not
sure where to get that from. Searched both VERITAS kb and Google, no luck.

Hmmm... the link mentioned version 9 but I'm not sure if the hotfix can be
applied to version 9. (I personally don't use Veritas since the built-in
SBS backup Wizard does a good job).

How about...

The Veritas software does not detect my AIT Atapi tape drive, but my
operating system does. How do I get the tape drive detected in Veritas?
