Hello

I have configured the automatic backup wizard in SBS 2003.

I heve configured that every day on 1u a backup has to be created.

I it takes Monday a backup at 1u, how long stays it on the backup device?
does it replace it tuesday with the new one? or does it create it and leaves
the older on it?

Greetings

Gerrit

The backup will still stay on the tape as long as you want it. If you don't
eject the tape yourself and replace it with another tape, it will be
overwritten. Unless you have configured backup to add.

Yes but the size of 1 backup is always 30GB because there are some mailboxes tha
have meany mails. (syncronisized). The extern Hard Disc who is used as th
backup device, is a Maxtor wit capacity of 70GB. Now i see that SBS take
every night a Backup (just like i configured it). But he creates a ne
backup near the backup from yesterday. So after 2 days is the backup dis
full.

Is there an option for to delete automaticaaly the older backup, befor
starting the new backup? in the wizard i don't found an option like that..

Or a tool maybe...

Thank yo

when creating or modifying a backup schedule via the 'configure backup'
shortcut in the To-Do list you may choose the number of file based backups
to keep on the same screen where you select the days the task runs. or you
should.
