Hello guys, i installed office 2003 on my server then i uninstalled it and installed access 97. When i try to open up access 97 it gives me the follwoing msg

Microsoft Access cant start because there is no license for it on this machine.

Then i installed office 2003 leaving the access 97 installation but it still gives me the same msg when i trys to open up access 97.

Any one knows whats going on ???

Thanks guys

"Install it on my server"

Why are you installing an Office application on your server?

You can push it out to have your users use Office, but how do they "use"
it if it's on the server?

That is a known issue when installing Access 97 on a computer that already
has Office 2000/XP/2003 installed.

How to install Access 97 on a system with Offfice 2000 (XP/2003 also
applicable)

But the real question is: why are you trying to install Access 97 on the
server? I t should be installed on each workstation that needs to use it!

If you just want Access - or even Office available to your users for install
to their desktops - you do not need to "install" the application on the
server.

Access or any Office application are client applications, that typically
should not be installed to run upon a server (baring a Terminal Server that
is setup for that purpose).

Copying the installation files onto a share on the server (not running the
Office Install program itself), and then providing a link to the share will
work quite easily. The setup is run from each PC then.

You can also add applications you want automatically installed to PC's by
adding the app via the "Set up Client Applications Wizard".
