I am running SBS 2000 and if I try to access a number of https sites ending
in port :8443 from a client machine it would appear that SBS prevents access.
I can however access the site on the SBS machine.

The best I can tell ISA Management does not have any rules that block this,
should I be looking elsewhere?

I would really appreciate any advice.

Hi Toby,

See if this helps...

Blank page or page cannot be displayed when you view SSL sites through ISA
Server

This certainly seems to be the sort of thing I am looking for, but I am an
inexperienced user and am unsure where I can edit / enter the information
from your link. i.e. is it on the client or server machine etc...

I would really appreciate it if you could offer me some further advice.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Toby,

This will be done on the SBS server. Jim Harrision has captured the
VBscript for ISA 2000 that was mentioned in that KB article I listed. This
is available at his isatools.org web site. You can download the VBscript
at: (put it on your server's desktop)
http://www.isatools.org/ssl_tpr_add.vbs

Then right click on it and select "Edit". You'll see 3 entries for 3520.
Replace each of these with 8443. Then save the script.

Then double click on the script to run it.

Then go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | Administrative Tools |
Services.

Scroll down in the list until you find the ISA Server Control Service.
Right click on it and select "Restart". And just for good measure, do the
same to the Microsoft Web Proxy service.

That should do it.

Would you know if a similar 'fix' would enable a SIP VOIP phone to 'see'
the Internet through ISA? - Obviously, it would need different ports.

There's some chatter here that some have got it to work with ISA 2004 (but
not ISA 2000)...

VoIP / Vonage?
http://forums.isaserver.org/m_200026400/tm.htm

So, you may have to upgrade to SBS 2003 Premium and apply the SBS 2003 SP1
CD with ISA 2004.

Thanks for the pointer Merv..
This is more for me when on-site than a Client requirement.
Unfortunately, the h/w firewall only has a single network port, so it is
not possible to drop me IP phone on the 'non-ISA' side of the SBS box.
If I have any luck, I will report back as it may be of interest to
others.

Site server is SBS2k, three years old, running short of space, and
Exchange is getting close to the limit (again).. :-(

Just the normal problem of persuading the Client to spend money!

Thanks again,
Philip Partridge
