Hello,
I changed my admin password and could not access my Active Directory via the
admin console anymore. Should I have restarted the server? I changed it, no
luck. Changed it back to the original and I could access my Console again.
What happened? I thought the password could be changed with a reboot? Or do
I log off and log back in?
Thanks
JohnJ

You can change your password, and a reboot isn't required.

However if you change your password, you need to ensure that you inspect any
services that are set to start with Administrator rather than System
authentication. I'm not really sure why a password change would lead to the
console not working, that should be the case. How did you go about doing the
change?

I don't remember exactly how I changed it. I think I hit ctrl alt del and
changed it that way, like my Windows 2000 professional clients/users. I
don't know if I changed it via the Admin Console. I'll try it again and post
again. I thought it was an odd issue. Thanks for your help. I am still on
one server at SP3 ready to go to SP4 next week. -JohnJ
