Hi,
I have a Small Business Server 2000 with windows 2000 clients.
The problem is that I have a Windows 2000 Server with active directory on
it, to which is active as a BDC. For some reason last night the PDC and the
BDC stopped talking and now I cant gain access to the BDC except for logging
onto the Server itself.
Is there anyway you can remove AD from the server?
I have tried allsorts and I still haven't got anywhere. Every time I go to
use the DCPROMO tool it disallows me to uninstall AD because it cannot
communicate to the PDC (SBS2K box).
I have looked all over the web with no joy. So if anyone can help it would
be greatly appreciated by me and the staff who work with me.
Thanks in advance

Andy C

Andy,

1) there are no PDC and BDC in 2000, everythign is a DC
2) Don't just randomly DCPROMO in fear, that will not fix ANYTHING!!!
3) What is in your event log?
4) Your problem is either DNS or FRS and likely an EASY problem to fix, we
just need more info like event log msgs and EXACTLY how DNS is setup.
