You probably don't have the disaster recovery option - it does not come with
the SBS version of Arcserve, and I think there may be a reason it won't work
on an SBS2k. If you're considering buying disaster recovery, you should
definitely check with CA on this before spending any money. (At least
request a 30-day trial from CA to make sure it works).
The new disaster recovery option in Arcserve 9 is supposed to be a lot
better. It creates a bootable CD-Rom that will recover your system in the
event of a total disaster. I had an older version in the SBS 4.5 days, and
thought it was more trouble than it was worth. You have to create a small
mountain of diskettes, then test them, and it has to be done every time you
make a hardware change, install an SP, etc. Given a well-functioning
hardware RAID, I thought it was better to risk having to reinstall the OS
and Arcserve to do a restore if necessary, than to go through all the work
of creating the DR disks. I might reconsider with the new version (when it
comes out for SBS) if it's as good as they say it is.
