Though i'd toss this ? out. I want to install a DVD RW drive on my Dell
Poweredge 1400sc over the weekend. The drive is an IDE unit and I'll replace
the existing CD drive with it. I have software for the drive but am not sure
it will work for Server 2000. Such a mystery beast these servers. Does
anyone see any issues?

On the same not i'd like to add a USB 2.0 PCI card. Again any thoughts?

I'm also going to add a second processor, wish me luck. I have two matching
CPU's from a PW1400 and the plug in for the mobo as well as heat sinks. Chris

Cris thanks for writing. The server has a working tape backup. i was
planning on using the DVD for image BU and spot backups of actual data. Will
it be ok for this?

The usb was to attach ext. devices such as hard drives.
