Hi, I have a sbs 2000 server that I can VPN into from
home. The connection is made , but when I go to the
command prompt to put in my server name and share name and
hit enter, nothing comes back except "unable to find
path". It has been working fine up until now. I restarted
RRAS but it made no diff. It seems that looking at the
sending and recieving bytes counter on the VPN display bar
that the sever is not sending anything back.( obviously
because the path is not found). I have checked ISA and
there is nothing out of the ordinary. It just seems to
have given up the ghost
If you could help I would be grateful
Regards Bob

Hi Bob,

When we are connected via VPN, can we ping the server by IP Address? by
NetBIOS name? by FQDN?
Does it return the correct IP Address for your server?

Open the RRAS console and check the following:

1) Right-click server_name, Properties
2) Choose the IP tab and under "Use the following adapter to obtain DHCP,
.." choose your local adapter.
3) Restart RRAS.

Also you will want to have SBS 2000 SP1 installed if you do not already and
look at the following article:
